SSLSD Annual Sports Meet, 2022/23

After two long years due to the pandemic, the highly-anticipated Annual Sports Meet of the Stafford Sri Lankan School – Doha, was successfully held on the 21st of October, 2022. The three houses went head-to-head against each other in friendly competition. At the end of the event, Topaz emerged the victors, while Garnett followed closely as the runner up; Emerald, the house that has won the most number of championships in the past years, fell to third place.

The students displayed grit, gumption and solidarity as one school, making the sports meet a truly special occasion. It was a pleasure to see parents and past pupils present in large numbers to witness the event.

Even though the 21st marked the culmination of the sports meet, the team events and a number of track and field events were held in the weeks leading up to the final date. Reflecting the wholesome education advocated by the school, which considers sports as an integral part of learning curriculum, the meet provided the opportunity to a very large number of students to participate in all the different sports and events. It was a pleasure to see the students embracing and enhancing their leadership skills, team work, and learning how to absorb and process all the rollercoaster-ride-like emotions.
